If you are a merchant or small time trader where you are the only one person is involved and managing the business then you can register a proprietorship firm. Only unorganised sectors like shop keepers, traders register as a proprietorship firm. As a supporting compliance registrations, a proprietor might require Service Tax registration or Sales Tax registrations. Less expensive compared to other business structures.
